Men, Masculinity, and fatherING
Our view of what it means to be “masculine” or a “man” is consciously and unconsciously influenced by our family, friends, culture, media, and general life experiences. This masculine lens impacts how we view ourselves, our environments, and others. Furthermore, we may find this masculine lens often goes unnoticed, is intentionally ignored, or persuades us to rigidly attach to particular masculine constructs. Some of our perspectives and actions informed by our views of masculinity can be hugely helpful, while other aspects of our masculinity keep us stuck in unhealthy cycles. Our goal will be to explore, unpack, and identify where toxic masculinity interferes with what we want in life, and leverage useful elements of masculinity to flourish and thrive within our relationships and ourselves. We can help you find a balanced and honest approach to comfortably express your masculinity, while also maintaining healthy relationships with yourself and others.

Through the lens of masculinity, I also help fathers or expecting fathers implement useful and loving relational frameworks with their child. Fathers I work with often note a closer and trusting connection with their child based on values and intentionality, rather than blindly fathering through their masculine lineage.
